Nolitha Tsengiwe

 Mindfulness for Cultivation of Compassion and Wisdom – July 29-30, 2022

Insight teacher Nolitha Tsengiwe, smiling and wearing an orange shirtA deepening of our understanding of mindfulness, compassion and wisdom teachings of the Buddha to connect with our hearts. We live in times of great instability, loss, trauma, stress and a potential “mental health pandemic.” This is an opportunity to strengthen our capacity to calm the body, heart and mind to be responsive.

Nolitha Tsengiwe is a meditation teacher trained by Insight Meditation Society (IMS), a teacher for Cloud Sangha and Dharmagiri Meditation Center, and mentor for Sounds True MMTCP. She has practiced under Kittisaro and Thanissara (disciples of Ajahn Chah) for more than 20 years. Nolitha is a psychologist, executive coach and leadership development consultant. She has a trauma sensitive lens in supporting clients who are in search of truth as a doorway to healing, well-being and freedom.

Mark Nunberg began his meditation practice in 1982. In 1993 he co-founded Common Ground Meditation Center in Minneapolis with his wife Wynn Fricke and continues to serve as the center’s Guiding Teacher.

John Cunningham
John has been teaching meditation for over 20 years. His practice and teaching combines Vipassana, loving-kindness and non-dual teachings from various spiritual traditions. John has studied with several teachers, but his primary teacher is Matt Flickstein. John is the primary teacher for Insight Meditation of Cleveland and leads several sanghas in the northeast Ohio area. John has led retreats and workshops throughout the eastern United States.

Ven. Sayalay Susila

Susila Born and educated in Malaysia, Sayalay Susila ordained as a Theravada Buddhist nun in 1991 at the age of 28, and has trained with two renowned Burmese meditation masters – the Venerable Sayadaw U Pandita and the Venerable Pa- Auk Sayadaw, under whose guidance she continues to practice today. Sayalay is well known especially for the clarity of her teaching of the Theravada Buddhist Suttas and Abhidhamma, which she taught initially in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore, as well as in Buddhist centers across Canada, the United States, and Australia.


Chas DiCapua

DiCapua
Visiting residential teacher Chas DiCapua from IMS offered a talk and a weekend workshop here at IMA2. Chas is a graduate of the IMS/Spirit Rock Teacher Training and has offered meditation teaching since 2001. He is interested in how all aspects of life can be used towards awakening. Currently the IMS Resident Teacher, he teaches throughout the US.
