Insight Meditation Ann Arbor is governed by a five member Board of Directors. The board is responsible for the financial health of the organization and, as such, approves any decisions requiring the outlay of funds, or entailing organizational or structural changes. The board works with the Community Advisory Group and the teachers on any substantive decisions to ensure that they are made mindfully and in the highest interest of the Sangha.
Board participation requires a modest commitment of time. Meetings occur no less than quarterly and usually no more than monthly. Board members serve for a term of two years.
Board Directors – Our by-laws require five board positions (president, secretary, treasurer, and two members at large). The terms rotate so that each year we need two new board members. Meetings are usually monthly. Some business is conducted via Email. Typically a board member might spend 1-5 hours a month on sangha business. Current board members :
- Julia D. (president, term ends Sept. 2025)
- Lou W. (treasurer, teacher liason)
- Juliana W. (term ends Jan 2026)
- Michael S. (term ends Jan 2026)
- Jon H. (term ends Sept. 2026)
