Women's Circles
We have started two women’s kalyana mitta (spiritual friends) group. These groups explore what engaged practice looks like - how do we apply the teachings and wisdom of
Insight Meditation to the joys, challenges, and practicalities of daily life? This group is intended for women with a regular (daily or near daily) meditation practice who would like support, company, and encouragement on the path. We can learn from, be inspired by, and grow with each other.

Non-Dual class: Winter 2025
Non-Dual Tantric Practice: finding oneness in the body
The realization that we are an expression of the unconditioned, limitless awareness brings a gradual realigning of the mind and heart with peace and stillness. It's a beautiful process of opening to true nature.
However, the felt sense of separation is deeply ingrained in the body and usually lingers on. We still feel that we live in a world of separated beings and objects, even though our realization tells us differently. This results...

The Wisdom of Non-Doing: Winter 2025
The Wisdom of Non-Doing
When we first come to meditation, we usually want something. It could be more peace, less reactivity or some kind of transcendent wisdom. It is a fine way to start our path, with a goal to get somewhere. But at some point, this is recognized as a stance of the ego wanting something. And we also recognize that this part that wants something is in the way, it will not ‘get’ us what we want. It is not capable of moving beyond itself. This is a hallmark on our journey th...

Insight Meditation Sunday Dharma Series
Sunday Dharma Talks
Join us one Sunday a month for Insight Meditation Ann Arbor's Sunday Dharma teaching.
Resident and guest teachers will be offering a series of talks exploring dharma teachings in a way to provide an understanding of the foundations of the Vipassana tradition.
The silent meditation will be shortened to 30 minutes, giving more time for the teaching and follow up with a Q&A. (Please note: This series will take the place of our regular Sunday Sitting on this Sunday.)

Continuing Vipassana Class
Developing Practice
In this class, we've studied the Eightfold path, the container for a meditation practice that effectively cultivates the happiness and peace our hearts are looking for.
Now we turn to practice itself: including formal insight meditation, heart cultivation practices, and wise attention that extends into daily life to ease stress and suffering. Learning to see problems as situations and to be present with difficulties is key to responding to life with wisdom and heart.

Election Week Practice Intensive: Nov. 3-8
Election Week = Practice Week: Practicing Kindness
The Dalai Lama once remarked his religion was kindness. Join us for a week-long practice: a daily online group sitting and dharma exercise focusing on kindness. We offer this week-long practice intensive as a healing to the world during elections and with the intention to be of support to the sangha/community.
We see the words ‘Be Kind’ on coffee mugs and t-shirts, with the picture of a little bee. These are great buzz words, but how are w...

In person continuing discussion group: Wednesday mornings
Sitting at the Edge
It can be useful to ask oneself ‘What’s at the edge of my practice?
By that is meant looking at one’s inner and outer experience, asking oneself what is present in the heart/mind and body in this week, this day, this hour, this moment. There may be pain or pleasure, confusion or ease, joy or sadness. The practice of Mindfulness accepts it all and leads us to look deeply and carefully, without judgment.
This is a circle gathering in support of this practice. We will begin b...
