The Wisdom of Non-Doing
When we first come to meditation, we usually want something. It could be more peace, less reactivity or some kind of transcendent wisdom. It is a fine way to start our path, with a goal to get somewhere. But at some point, this is recognized as a stance of the ego wanting something. And we also recognize that this part that wants something is in the way, it will not ‘get’ us what we want. It is not capable of moving beyond itself. This is a hallmark on our journey that is a beginning of a Wisdom..
When we deeply understand this incapability: first by allowing it, seeing it, dealing with our identification with it, – rather trying to fix, change, judge, manage, or avoid it – something changes. We can begin to understand the wisdom in this seeing.
The wisdom of non-doing opens a door to a relaxing of the ego driven orientation in our practice. As we orient to this, we feel more free, with less need to control our experience.
This three-session class will explore the wisdom of non-doing. Each class will include a teaching, meditations, personal inquiries in 2’s and 3’s and time for questions.
