Sunday Dharma Series March 5 ~ Julie Woodward: Embodied Resilience; Mindfulness of the Body

Practices for cultivating the witness through the felt sense of the body allow us to navigate inner experience with greater skill and awareness.

Nervous system regulation plays a role in becoming sensitive to inner knowing and discernment as well as expanding a sense of peace, spaciousness, and loving awareness. This embodied approach can support us in meeting constrictions, conditioning, and suffering that arise in life with practices specific to the nature of what has arisen to create a foundation of wholeness.

Julie is a meditation and mindfulness teacher, leads mindfulness hikes, and was trained by Jon Kabat-Zin and Saki Santorelli on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine. Julie offers ‘yoga for the nervous system’ classes;  an embodied practice consisting of yoga movement and breathing to regulate of the nervous system, cultivate compassion, expand awareness of and connectedness to self, others and all of life.
