Many of us experience a relief when exposed to the simple and direct tenent of the first Noble Truth: “there is suffering.” It’s liberating because we know it’s true. Once we are able to

embrace this truth, without aversion, we are free to apply our efforts in following the Buddha’s instruction in the training of our minds and hearts. In this talk I’d like to explore with you how we can keep up the gradual refining of our ability to meet this truth, live wisely, and yes, even joyously, with the inevitable human existential truth of sickness, old age, and dying.
