An Exploration of Renunciation with Vance Pryor
3-10: Vance has notified us that due to a family emergency, he will not be able to lead this retreat on the scheduled dates. The retreat will be either reschedule or cancelled, please check back.
This weekend retreat includes a Friday night talk, followed by a day long on Saturday. Vance will be teaching online over Zoom. You can attend the retreat at home via Zoom. We will also be opening the meditation hall, so you can also do this retreat IN PERSON with others at our new space.
Along with a weekend of establishing continuity of awareness in all postures, we will be examining the role of renunciation (nekkhamma in Pali) in our Dharma practice. Although at first glance, renunciation could seem to imply deprivation or rigidity, it is actually pointing to a cultivated mind that is free from clinging. We will be looking into the role of renunciation as an essential aspect of the path towards greater degrees of wellness, and liberation from afflictive emotions.
