Together we can explore how to bring our practices of mindfulness and compassion to bear on the multitude of social injustices in the world. The primary question we will be exploring is how we work with feelings of shame, hopelessness, and powerlessness that can pervade the world of modern activism so that we can better meet ourselves and the world with the compassion that is our true nature.
Cormac has been a teacher in the Insight tradition since 2010. He received Soto Zen lay ordination in 2007, and brings that tradition’s focus on “not-knowing mind” and “right action” into his teachings. He also obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard, where he received intimate training in the limitations of attaching your ego to a fancy organization.
