Understanding the Distracted Mind ~ in person class

When we come to meditation, we see clearly how fractured, divided and easily distracted the mind is. And, we cannot seem to ‘fix’ it. Even after years of practice, we still find distraction a central experience in practice – and in life. It seems random and out of our control.

However, there is nothing random about distraction – it serves a definite purpose. Instead of fighting distraction, when we begin to notice it with interest and curiosity,  a door opens in understanding and insight. Acceptance and appreciation for distraction is a key to peace and stillness.

NOTE: An introductory talk on this topic given recently: it will be helpful to  listen to the recording of it  before this class begins.

For something to be truly transformative, it must go beyond ideas presented in a talk and be practiced with to become immediate and real. The class will start where the talk leaves off.
