A Refuge Supreme: The Buddha, The Dhamma, and The Sangha
When the heart is happy, at ease, and safe, the mind will follow. Frequently, however, we try to force the mind to quiet and clear while the heart is not yet there. The heart is the leader on the way to peace and putting the mind ahead of it is like putting the cart before the horse – it doesn’t get us where we want to go.
In this day-long retreat, we’ll investigate some of the traditional ways to put the heart first and to feed calm, ease, beauty and joy. How we do our meditation practice can be an important avenue to offering the heart a way to open and quiet. We’ll introduce and try out some of the traditional means to build an external and internal environment that supports an open heart and quiet kind mind.
The day in Noble Silence will include formal sitting, standing, and walking meditation, gentle qi-gong movement, Dhamma reflections, and an opportunity for questions.
Offered freely on a donation basis.
